This anthology of fiction was written while the author lived alone for a year in a small cabin on an uninhabited subarctic island in Alaska. The collection includes
1. Bear Infested Waters - A man finds himself trapped in a storage shed with a full grown bear. He plays a deadly cat and mouse game to outsmart his foe and survive.
2. Bedtime Stories - A young girl deals with social pressures at school with the help a mythological beast which must do her bidding. She must learn to control her powers before they destroy her.
3. No Loose Ends - A college student signs up for a medical experiment only to find herself slipping outside her body for short periods of time. When she learns what she wasn't meant to know she must decide what to do. She also finds she has powers she didn't expect.
4. Personal - A simple burglary quickly escalates into something far more sinister. It's hard to undo the past when things get personal.
5. Outpost - Two men stationed on a solitary moon base must decided what to do when they find something buried which doesn't belong.
6. Silver Linings - It's hard to find a silver lining for every dark cloud. It's even more difficult when Mankind's toying with science becomes its undoing.

I don't typically read short stories but purchased this because of who the author is. I followed Chuck on Facebook as he lived off the grid in remote Alaska for a year. Just the idea of reading something he wrote while he was living in complete isolation intrigued me. I was NOT disappointed. I enjoyed each story and would recommend this as a fun read. I will however make sure my closet door is closed when I go to bed tonight. Thanks Chuck, you scared me.........boo.Product details

Some really cool short stories in there
Very well written book with gripping stories. Highly recommend for anyone looking for readers looking for something different than standard stories. Perhaps best read in pieces as opposed all at once.
Please give me a full length novel on each story!!!!

This collection of short stories has a nice mix of genres, and is a fast read. There are plot twists that make you think you know what is about to happen, and then completely go in another direction - but not without losing consistency and sense. Recommended, especially at the low price.
